The Fates make mischief
The Fates have begun to realise that they've lost their sense of fun due to being over burdened with their work load. In an attempt to reinvigorate their lives they decide to roll the dice and create mischief like they did in the ancient days.

Lawrence tempts Hugo back to school.
Hugo has not been at school for weeks since the death of his mum. His best friend Lawrence visits him with news that an Italian girl has just arrived at their school.

Gender opposites
In this scene Hugo has returned to school to check out the new girl and to disprove Lawrence's notions about love at first sight. To make the scene fun, the mischievous Fates have decided that the entire Chorus will play the opposite gender.
Obstacles
Having met Verona for the first time, Hugo wants to know why she is not interested in having a boyfriend. While trying to solve this mystery Hugo and Lawrence are interrupted by the arrival of an ominous stranger.
Operation Mobile Gyms
Hugo's dad (Max) has called together a disparate group of people from WINZ to make a draft video for his latest business plan. Max's scheme is to create a video that promotes his new initiative 'Operation Mobile Gyms'. Although he can't afford to buy any actual gym equipment this does not deter his belief in the enterprise.

Roberto upsets Nonna.
Verona's grandmother (Nonna) has just found out that her Grandson (Roberto) has threatened both Hugo and Lawrence. Nonna is particularly upset because she does not want Roberto interfering in Verona's affairs.

The Arts Lab
Hugo has heard that Verona will be dancing at the Arts Lab. He therefore decides that he will attempt to win Verona's heart by also performing. Following his debut appearance on the stage he hopes to find out whether his objective has been achieved or not.

Under the stars
Following the success of his first scientific experiment on love, Hugo is feeling hopeful about winning Verona's heart. Having heard about Hugo's 'hypothesis' Verona knows that she has no option but to tell Hugo why they can't be together. Verona therefore visits Hugo under the watchful gaze of both the night sky and the Fates.

Old ways
Hugo has once again dropped out of school, he has not seen Verona since their last exchange 'under the stars'. While talking with Lawrence, Nonna arrives with a gift for Hugo and important news about her granddaughter.
